Dubrovnik & Montenegro
Sat 29th August - Sat 5th September 2026

Overview

A voyage less sailed awaits in the picturesque country of Montenegro, a hidden gem of the Adriatic.  We’ll be starting from the legendary walled city of Dubrovnik, made famous by Game of Thrones, and sailing southwards across sparkling turquoise waters towards Montenegro with it’s magnificent inland sea known as the Gulf of Kotor.

Along the way, we’ll discover a coastline dotted with tiny, storybook islands, ancient walled towns.  Montenegro’s shores whisper tales from centuries past—from Venetian fortresses and Byzantine churches to mysterious Cold War relics tucked into the cliffs.

Dubrovnik – Croatia

Dubrovnik, a stunning coastal city in southern Croatia, is often called the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Encircled by massive stone walls, it’s baroque architecture, red roofs and spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea make it one of Europe’s most photographed destinations.

The city’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a maze of narrow limestone streets and historic landmarks such as the Rector’s Palace and Sponza Palace.

Dubrovnik gained worldwide fame as a filming location for Game of Thrones, where it served as the primary setting for King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. Sightseeing tours put all this in context visiting sites like Fort Lovrijenac and the City Walls to relive iconic scenes from the show.

Zelenika – Montenegro

Zelenika is our gateway to Monetenegro and is situated just outside Herceg Novi – for six centuries the town that was built on the entrance to the Boka Kotorska Bay has been watching over and guarding the entrance to the bay. Over time, the Mare Fortress, Spanish Tower and Kanli Kula have become covered by palms and eucalyptuses, cypresses and olives, magnolias mimosas and other exotic species, brought here over the ages from different corners of the world.

Budva Montenegro

Budva – Montenegro

Budva, Montenegro, is one of the Adriatic coast’s premier destinations, known for its stunning beaches and rich history. Dating back over 2,500 years, Budva is among the oldest settlements on the Adriatic. Its charming Old Town (Stari Grad), encircled by medieval stone walls, offers narrow cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and hidden courtyards overlooking the sea.

The Budva Riviera has beautiful beaches such as Mogren, Jaz, and Slovenska Plaža, attracting sunseekers and festivalgoers alike. By night, Budva transforms into a lively hub filled with beach bars, restaurants, and open-air clubs.

Perast – Montenegro

Looking like a chunk of Venice has floated down the Adriatic and anchored itself onto the bay, Perast’s streets hum with the melancholic memories of the days when it was rich and powerful. Despite only having one real street, this tiny town boasts 16 churches and 17 grand palazzos. While some are just enigmatic ruins sprouting bougainvillea and wild fig, others are caught up in the whirlwind of renovation that has hit the town. Soon the bemused villagers may be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones who were reported to be looking for property here.

Kotor – Montenegro

Kotor’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with winding cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and charming squares. Towering above the town, the fortress of San Giovanni offers panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor, often called Europe’s southernmost fjord.

The town’s rich history reflects influences from the Venetian, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian empires. Today, Kotor is a popular destination for travellers seeking both history and natural beauty, offering delicious seafood, and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
