What a great 1st SundownersYC solent weekend, another Sundowners first, this time our club rally and beach BBQ in Newtown Creek. 22 Club members onboard on 4 club boats enjoying sun, sea and NO WIND for our inaugural Solent Cruise. We welcomed old and new members onboard on this great weekend, on board our club boat, Laita, and 3 club members boats.
Thanks to Dai Jones on Poohstix, Ade Hill on Sofa, and Gareth Wear skippering Hebe in place of Vernon James’ ‘Katy Girl’. The weather was a little better than expected, normally it rains for a BBQ but we even had a ‘Sundowners’ photo on Newtown Creek beech. Dai Jones had an interesting delivery back to Cherbourgh we hear, plenty of spare pork ribs to keep you occupied though according to the crew left overs.
What about that merry go round on the visitor’s moorings? Like being on a fair ground ride! great to see all club members on the VC’s boat for evening drinks after the BBQ. See you all soon on our next Solent outing. Here are some pboto recollections:
