Itinerary
A few of the places around Skye that we may visit are:
The Fairy Pools
At foot of the Black Cuillins near Glenbrittle are the Fairy Pools, beautifully crystal clear blue pools on the River Brittle.
These famous pools entice visitors from all over the world, as they make some great ‘Wild Swimming’ for those brave enough to enter the cold water. For the less adventurous these magical Fairy Pools make some fantastic photos.
Eileen Doran Castle
Eilean Donan is a small tidal island where three lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh. A picturesque castle that frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island, which lies about 1 kilometre from the village of Dornie. Since the castle’s restoration in the early 20th century, a footbridge has connected the island to the mainland.
Mealt Falls
Mealt Falls is a spectacular waterfall which is fed from Loch Mealt on Skye.
Portree
Portree is the largest town on Skye but still retains a quaint charm. The picturesque town derives it’s name from the gaelic Port Righ which means King’s Port possibly from a visit by King James V of Scotland in 1540.
